| Construction |
Elite Garage uses dado and steel screw construction. This construction technique has been widely recognized as the preferred method for superior strength. |
The stapling methods of assembly used by many companies’ offers a less structurally sound cabinet, unable to withstand the rigors of garage use. |
Construction
Materials |
Elite Garage uses thermal fused melamine on all cabinetry. This means the coatings are baked on both sides and are very durable in the intense heat of the garage. |
Most competitors use cheaper “cold rolled melamine” which is prone to peeling and chipping. |
| Shelves |
Elite Garage uses one-inch thick cabinet tops, bottoms and adjustable shelves are thicker than industry standards. This allows them to withstand heavier loads and more resistance to bowing. Elite Garage uses a dual-pin shelf support for added strength and durability. |
The industry standard ¾ inch cabinet top, bottom and shelves are prone to sagging. Shelf stiffeners offer only a marginal solution to the problem. |
| Backs |
Elite Garage uses a ¼ inch interlocking cabinet back to provide superior strength and integrity. This also makes the cabinet more restrictive to dust and insects. |
No backs or thin butt-jointed backs can compromise the strength of a cabinet and result in gaps that provide points of entry for dust and insects. |
| Hardware |
Elite Garage uses fully concealed, 120 degree, European hinges, which allows for a greater amount of adjustability and durability. |
Most companies utilize small barrel hinges which are inexpensive, aesthetically unpleasing, and prone to breakage. |
| Edge Banding |
Elite Garage uses a 2 mm edge banding applied by state-of- the-art machinery which insures permanent adhesion to and protection of all doors and drawer fronts. |
Most companies apply a ½ mm edge tape or T molding, which is prone to chipping, peeling and damage. |
| Design |
Elite Garage manufactures cabinets in a warm color scheme, with clean uniform lines that are complimentary to the garage. The cabinetry is mounted to the studs 6 inches above the floor offering ease of cleaning and access to cabinetry. |
Kick plates and support legs for garage cabinets create hiding places for insects and other unwanted creatures. These unsightly additions make cleaning and upkeep more challenging. Cabinetry sitting on the floor, in the garage is also subject to possible water damage. |
